Dear Classmates, November, 2009
Here in southern
For those of you who attended our 45th high school reunion in June, thank you for taking the time to attend our celebration. Our weekend was a success due in large part to your participation. To quote Sheila Underwood, “At the Saturday evening event, I experienced so much emotion during those few hours. The send- off breakfast at Dick Hodgdon's was a relaxed opportunity to engage in conversation and focus on individuality. The impact of being in the midst of so many that shared a time of life so long ago is a profound experience.”
The weekend events began with an attempt to
play golf at the Keene Country Club. A
forecast of rain kept all but the hearty bunch….Ray Puffer, Rick Farnham, John
Mitchelides, Billy Christmas and Dick Tracy… from playing. John surprised
everyone with a phenomenal game. Saturday
evening at the Legion was complete with great music from local artists Shakin’ All Over, dancing, lengthy
conversations catching up, pictures, hugs and promises to keep in touch! Elaine Merrill Flood and
Saturday evening we conducted a short business meeting with
regard to future alumni plans. To that
end, you will be hearing from Ray Puffer in a separate class mailing. In
memoriam, Warren read aloud the following names of deceased classmates: Doreen Atema Patenode, Martha Collins Bacon,
Lawrence Bauman, Dale Bergeron, Ronald Blood, Eric Brackett, Patricia Brown,
John Chase, Linda Marston Gouger, Powell Crowley, Constance Dean, Edward Dodge,
Diane Mosher Fosburgh, Charles Gray, Christopher (Peter) Groeger, Patricia
Hescock,
The following topics were briefly discussed: 1.) How do we stay connected during the next 5 yrs.? 2.) What type of event would we like for our 50th and what time of year should it be held? 3.) Ray Puffer, Jeanette Robinson Iverson and Mike Bouvier will develop a plan for a class gift to be presented at our 50th reunion. Their intention is to create an idea for a gift that will endure. 4.) We would like to form a 50th Reunion Planning Committee. If you are interested in volunteering please let us know.
From Rick Farnham, “I can’t speak for everyone but for reasons I hold dear, I never tire of re-acquainting with the friends and classmates of my youth! The bond remains strong and even time and separation fail to diminish my enthusiasm, when embraced in the throngs of so many familiar faces!”

Class of ’64 attendees at the Saturday night gala. How many classmates do you recognize?
We have put a lot of effort into maintaining an up-to-date
address list for all of our classmates. If your mailing address, email address,
or phone numbers have changed recently, or change in the future please send an
update to Ray Puffer either by email at puffer@rpi.edu,
or by mail at
As mentioned above please look for more correspondence in
the months to come from Ray Puffer about our class gift, and from the reunion
planning committee about planning for the 50th reunion. We welcome your ideas and suggestions to
make our 50th an even better event.

nothing, and will bring a smile to your face. We have already begun to think
